Words from the President
With the spirit of “Knowing the new brings us far. Advocate the truth and persevere,” NCTU is committed to academic research, talent cultivation, and social service. We also actively promote international academic exchange to come into contact with worldwide higher education. Through all-round arrangements, we have in turn developed diverse fields of study, such as natural science, engineering, management science and humanities, progressing toward a top elaborate comprehensive university in the world.
Though well-known for its scientific and engineering expertise, NCTU insists on the idea of liberal education and has been enhancing our general education. We diversify the courses in order to build up students’ knowledge and wisdom, cultivate in them a character of independence and maturity, and an attitude of lifelong learning.
Open Course Ware (OCW) begins with the basic taught courses which we are most proud of. These include physics, chemistry, calculus, and so forth. It sets our premium expertise and teaching for a broader use. In the future, OCW will further cover some extended courses. It has not only opened a door to self-learning for students at each level, but offered a rare opportunity for those who simply wish to enjoy the beauty of basic science.

Welcome to the website of NCTU Open Course Ware
Share in altruism, see beyond limitation
Open Course Ware is mainly launched for 3 subjects, physics, chemistry and calculus, which form an important connection between high school education and specialized university curriculum. It in turn extends to other essential courses on basic science, creating elaborate content and a flexible learning network.
NCTU shares these courses in the hope of enabling more people to make use of our excellent knowledge and teaching. We provide timely, relevant and suitable content via the convenience of internet, aiding students and self-educators in their continuous learning and self-advancement. We, on one hand, shoulder up our social responsibility; on the other, actively create an environment for lifelong learning, showing the world our efforts and attentiveness in education and knowledge sharing.
